- Marisa Arna
moved her ceramic studio from her native Greece eleven years ago. She
became known in the UK for her fine thrown porcelain work which was on
sale in the UK and overseas in places such as the Conran Shop, the V&A
shop, and at fairs like Chelsea Craft Fair and Origin.
- In 2006 she
decided to pursue another passion of hers, jewellery. She launched her
first comprehensive collection of sterling silver and 18ct gold handmade
jewellery at BCTF 2007. She has been incredibly busy since then, both with
supplying galleries such as Aberdeen City Art Gallery shop and Yorkshire
Sculpture Park as well as selling from her studio and gallery in a village
near Frinton on Sea, on the East Anglian coast. Marisa's jewellery has
also appeared in the press with features on her and her work.
-
- Her
jewellery is mostly sterling silver with accents in polished silver or
textured 18ct gold. It still echoes her love of clean lines and variation
in texture which made her known in the world of ceramics.
-
- Marisa
enjoys working on a variety of collections suitable for a wide range of
ages and styles. She has also worked on a lot of commissions and has
produced quite a few one-off pieces. She is always working on new designs,
and if you visit the studio you have the chance to discuss any
commissions, or just choose something from the work on display at the
gallery
